I was doodling on Paint, and my mind came up with an interesting idea for my tank setup. Can you let me know what you think? It's a 3 x 1 x 1 foot enclosure. Scale is pretty accurate, except I depicted the humidity/hide boxes to be far too big.

So the water is elevated above the floor on the enclosure? If so, I can see that as an access problem.

Access for the snakes.

Yes, it is. That's why there's a bridge and a branch. I liked the idea of keeping the floorspace underneath the water bowl. Would it really be a problem?

I just think garters naturally find water at ground level. Whether it's a pool, puddle or dew off the grass.
I also think that some young snakes need easy access to water.
Just my opinion.

Not sure how that'd work out. If you did it, I'd keep another dish on the ground. At least at first.

Would the stuck on glass be strong enough to support the water bowl?

I like to use a water dish with a hide under it, but only with snakes that I know climb and use the upper levels of their cage regularly. Babies and non climbers get low dishes. Water always needs to be lower than their favorite basking area.

I have a metal rack thing, with a wooden platform on it, that would indeed be strong enough to hold the water bowl. Buck loves climbing, but at first I certainly will keep a water dish below it, if I do indeed go through with this set up. Thank you all for the feedback.

switch the hide position and the water, snakes love elevated hides

They do indeed.. Only used one elevated hide but everyone in the tank used it.. They seem to like them some height
