They might not be up to the standard of others, but still I thought I'd share some pics of my collection. I am currently without camera, so these are from a few months ago. Pics of the parietalis, dice snake and the gold-bellied liophis will follow...

My personal fav... the liophis Jaegeri (a rear-fanged snake from South America - kept much like garters but requires higher humidity)

Love them all! Is that dorsal stripe on the concinnus (red spot) white? Looks like it is on my monitor.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm pretty pleased with my collection.
In reply to the questions, the stripe is a gorgeous creamy white on the red-spotted. The liophis feeds on smelt and pinkies - a greedy thing that's for sure!

I don't think I've ever seen such a wide, bold, well defined stripe on a concinnus before. Wow.

My little parietalis - It's a fesity little thing and yep that's poo on it's head!

and then my Liophis Poecilogyrus (this wee one has doubled in size since I acquired and yet it's still so small). It's in the process of getting it's adult colours and the golden belly is just starting to show through.

Oh and a blast from the past. To finish off the Chinese Water Snake (Enhydris Chinensis) that I once had in my collection. It was WC and totally aquatic. I loved it but unfortunately it died after a year and a half.

Kick *** collection man -- love the parietalis. And the Poecilogyrus. Been wanting a Liophis for awhile, the only non-garter I've ever really wanted lol

Not directly - I acquired it from a shop over here (Coast to Coast Exotics), who I know bought it back from Holland.

Ruth,
These Liophis jaegeri would be a perfect subject for a semi aquatic viv you'r thinking of making. They are very similar to garters but require higher humidity so you could go crazy with the water section and use all the tropical plants you could think of without worrying about skin problems that a garter would suffer. Also in relation to their beauty they are quite cheap! (usually around £100-200)

I know, i've read up a bit about them and thought straight away that they would be perfect. It does amaze me though how cheap they are. The coast to cost shop has them for sale now at £95. They remind me of a snake I saw as a small child that was bright green and small, that was when I fell in love with snakes. I don't know what those snakes were but these certainly have the vivid green and small stature.

I wish i could find them around here, but i've only ever seen a few for sale around here and they were very expensive for wildcaught imports!

My pair are growing nicely and I'm hoping to try and breed them next year.
They would be perfect for that semi-aquatic setup you dream of :-)
