Hi everyone! I haven't been on here in a while. I have a heating pad that I use for Lucifina ( I have since changed her name from Lucifer) and it seems not to get that hot and I was wondering has anyone ever heard of or used 21-ct. heat factory outdoor warmers? They are like little packets that you use to keep your hands warm. They are the size of your hand and I was wondering if it would be safe to put in her tank to keep her warm. I would like your opinion on this. Thanks!

I think those can get pretty hot and I don't think it would be cost effective. Do you know what temp. your heat pad is getting? What brand pad is it?

I have used them in the boot of the car to keep the area warm during transport, but I would not put them on it directly, they get way to hot

Sometimes is can get really warm. I think it doesn't that much because it doesn't touch the bottom part of the glass. Her 10gl tank fits right on the heating pad but its the type you would use where you lay on your back to massage it. It's the only one I have until I can buy her one which they are all expensive around here.

My concern wasn't about glass damage it was about too much heat on the snake.

I check her tank and make sure it doesn't get too hot and if it seems like it I lower it. What kind of heat sources do you use and what kind of bedding?

I'm a little confused. How do you lower the temp. on those hand warmers? That's what I was talking about.

I use flexwatt heat tape and Hydrofarm thermostats to control the temp.
I use compressed aspen bedding.

No I was talking about the heat pad that I use not the handwarmers. I was just asking if it was safe to use those inside the tank, I haven't put them in there. I would never try it without asking about it first.
