I just found a tiny clam(or some sort of clam-like thing)in my pack of silversides. It was small, probably about 1/2 in. big. I threw it out....But is that ok? Are my silversides contaminated somehow?

If the pack was frozen then there shouldn't be any contamination.

I was just worried about any "clam juices/germs" mixing in with the fish....Not sure if clams are bad for them(of course I didn't feed it to him, but was thinking of the juices).

Yeah, they're all packaged the same, same factory and all that. Not uncommon

I guess it makes sense that it would happen. I won't be so surprised if it happens again:p

anyway to find out if those silversides had been in brackish water, or fresh water? if you see another one see if you can identify the clam online to make sure it's a fresh water one. if it is there shouldn't be a problem. (i was just worried about salt)...i read once that some silversides are grown in salt water
