Hey guys, I recently found a little checkered garter snake in my BEDROOM the other night. Well after looking around on the internet I think i'm gonna keep him/her as a pet.
Its about the circumference of a pen and about 12 to 13 inches long. So what should i feed it. Also what kind of enclosure should i get and other essentials are needed? and any other tips for a new snake guy feel free to throw them at me. thanks in advance!

You found a wild snake in your house? I wish I could find snakes that easily. :D you should read the other threads about feeding and search online. maybe post some pictures?

Where are you from? Just checking that it is a wild snake and not someones pet!

A 10 gallon tank will work fine. Make sure it has a secure lid! A small water dish, a hide box, and a rock to help with shedding. I use paper towels and newspaper for substrate for easy care and maintenance. If you use aspen or something like that, you should feed in another tank as fish or worms are wet and substrate will adhere to the food and could cause blockage in the snakes intestinal tract.
