I always leave the heat mat on, just at one end, but they are low wattage matts, I turn the lighting off at night

It's only a 12 watt mat and it's connected to a thermostat. At night it's a few degrees lower than the day time temperature.

I usually leave my flexwatt on 24/7. As a money saving attempt I will soon turn mats off at night. Sun goes down and the heat drops in nature. I don't see it as a bad thing but I am open to any thoughts on the subject.

In my crib the night time temps are around 68 degrees f, so I turn off whatever heating I have on my garters but keep them on for my corns.
My reasoning for this is because most of my garters are diurnal and get fed during the daytime and my corns are nocturnal and usually get fed at night. It's also a good way to save a few shekels. :D

I leave heat on around the clock, but everyone has a cool side to use if they so desire. I would turn it down at night but I'd never remember to turn it back up in the morning. I'd buy a few thermostats but I don't run a lot of heat so it would probably take a couple years to realize any savings.
