Indeed a nice snake.
I would personally add some branches in the enclosure. You create extra space like that and they like to climb.

Thamnophis marcianus marcianus is the scientific name for your snake...the Checkered Garter Snake.

Sorry, I use a lot of scientific names, since soo many common names can be confusing.....guess in this case the scientific name was confusing...LOL!:D
