What temperature do you guys keep your pregnant garters at? I was wondering if I should warm the tank a little, currently it is 75-80*F.

Aside from being slightly more humid, do scrubs need higher temperatures also?

You are going to want a warm side and a cool side the warm side shoud be around 85 and the cool should go no lower than 70. I don't think it matters if she is pregnant or not I would keep the same temp. The babies need a very stable temp around 75-80 they have a harder time controlling thier body heat because of the lower surface area. Hope this helped.

I think a higher humidity is very important for babies. Dehydration is a big concern.

Thanks guys. I finally got a real set up. It's in the 60's at night, so I'm aprehensive about letting Mamas go until spring. lol. And I'm trying not to talk myself out of it.

I honestly haven't been using any heat for my snakes throughout the summer. I'm just starting to use lamps again at night. However, I always use a heat lamp for my babies...I always make sure that it stays warm on one side of the tank for them. I also keep it nice and humid and have a pile of moist moss for them to burrow in. Now, as the weather gets cooler and I use the lamps and heat pads again...I try to keep it around 85 on the warm side of all of my tanks and let it go down to about 65-70 at night

I keep mine at 75-85 degree fahrenheit. It drops down to about 65 degrees at night though. Make sure they always have water. Remember she's not drinking for one anymore.
