Hey... does anyone ever get together (for members that live close)?

I have met a couple members in person, we have talked about mass gatherings, but it always goes to heck in a basket.

Sometimes members get together and go to reptile expos.

There have been members that have stopped by the Ranch when they are in the area.

Mike drove to Delaware and then we went up to PA for an expo. It was awesome. He needs to come back...hint, hint.

I'd love to meet other Garter Snake lovers. But I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm not sure if anyone is close to me.

Selkielass: I'd love to have a Detroit Metro meetup. I've never been to the Taylor Reptile Expo and RATS... it's going on RIGHT NOW! Ugh. I won't make it on time. Next month. Do they have any/many garters there? Are they all Easterns?
I Heart Sneaky Snakes: Where in WA do you live? My sister lives in Seattle and the next time I'm there I'd love to meet up!
Guido: If I'm ever in Iowa I'll be contacting you. I'd LOVE to see the Ranch. :)
I'd also be up for a meeting of the East Coasters the next time I'm out that way too... I have family that lives near Philly and was just there this summer. Tried (and failed) to catch another Eastern as a friend for my mama snake.
Anyone else here in Metro Detroit?

I've never been to America before (I haven't even left Europe!).It would be great to meet some of the members from over the pond and do some herping with them.

I live in Moses Lake, right in the middle of the state. About 2 1/2 hours from Seattle. I'd love to meet up if you visit your family :)

Marwolaeth: you could always meet me and have a go at herping in the New Forrest? I haven't tried yet so I'm not sure if much would be found but it is home to every species of snake in the UK that I'm aware of. Of course you wouldn't be able to do so much as blow a raspberry at a smooth snake without someone slapping you but it could be good for grass snakes :)

I've met Chantel in person and talked to Steve, Joe, and Donna on the phone.

Maybe there is a good place to find garters somewhere on the route between Moses Lake and Seattle... I'd love to bring home a regional garter snake.

That would be awesome if we had like a Thamnophis.com get together thing! I know that would be really hard, and as Wayne said, I guess something similar has been tried and it didn't work out....Hmm...

Sorry, I just had to say that cracked me up!(Just the way you said it...) I guess those are protected snakes?

I've met a couple of UK members and I think there's a fair few heading to Donny in a couple of weeks. It's got to be easier for us than our American friends based on the distances.
