My WC female T.s.sirtalis finally gave birth! 1.3 live, and 5 stillborns :(

I originally just checked the tail, and a HUGE difference could be seen between the male and the females[the 3 curled up]...I'm going to wait a bit until they get bigger and pop or probe them...[These 4 will all be holdbacks, going to a melanistic locale soon to find a male]

Sorry to hear about the still borns you should get a diffrent substrate for them too.

Cute little ones...
Are you keeping them on gravel?? if so that's a bad idea... Take a look at our Care sheet... It lists safe substrates to use along with lots of other useful information!

The gravel was just for the pictures... They are kept on papertowels right now which will be switched to bark once they get older...

Way to go! Don't let the still borns get you down, appreciate what you were lucky to get! The babies show quite the variation. Very solid looking litter!

So far they have eaten worm pieces, guppies and pinky parts! hopefully itll be easy to convert them to mice.

This is my first litter in the last few years...5th in total, i used to breed them when i was younger, but havent in a while..
