Im back! kinda... lol

Well I had sold the trio of checkered garters I had to downsize for a bit. And well today I found a couple eastern babies while I was cutting the lawn at work.
Not sure sex's yet but will do so once their settled. The one has some nice red on its side. I brought them home and set up a tank for them.

I will post pix once I find my camera in order to take them.

No I'm usually very alert and looking when i do the lawn there. Several weeks ago i ran over a Praying Mantis, i saw it too late when i was trimming down the higher grass right along the VERY long grass. It was green and it was too late... :(
I spotted a bigger one (probably mom or dad) as i was coming up to the water drain pipe from the CNC, it got away from me completely. But later i was checking the longer grass that the mower cannot get against the building and i can across one, then two and later 3. I kept the first and third one's because they were smaller and closer in size.
I got a couple pix with my phone (still can't find my good Camera and now I'm slightly pissed because my g/f probably put it somewhere after we were at the zoo and doesn't remember or just lost it in general) I'll post in a bit after i upload them.

Nice pics! Very pretty little ones. Welcome back. Glad you take the time to watch out for snakes when cutting the grass. Part of the reason I had to bring my easterns inside was because the people who cut my grass don't give a darn and would run right over a snake.

Thank you everyone. I've never really kept a wild caught local snake before. I'm excited about it.
I took a minute today and i poped them, Both males, no worries. These are going to make nice pets :) I don't plan on breeding, I'm going to have my hands full when i start breeding the corns anyway.

It's kinda too bad I didn't think of it but I could have got a pair/trio of garters imported, though still could but cash is not enough for that. A friend and me are getting some corn snakes imported this year. Maybe next year I'll see about getting a pair or two different kinds of garters. It'd be nicer to have more variety here in Canada other then the odd breeder you MIGHT come across and of course the checkered garters.

Thx Gail. And Chantel that is the thermometer probe, the light doesn't rePly put off any heat (uvb curly bulb) but I wanted to know the hottest spot and it'd be there. The rest of my basement stays around 77-79 or so due to fish tank and everything else, computer, hot water heater dryer etc...
