did you see the one a week or so ago that was 1/2 red 1/2 blue? it was like someone drew a line down the middle!

Lobsters in the UK are always blue (until they're cooked!), but darker than the one pictured. Maybe a different species from your US version.
There is a small, isolated population of lobsters this colour, off the East coast of Scotland (just North of Arbroath), they are locally referred to as "Auchmithy Blues".

in the US they are more of a brownish black
in Ireland where we used to get them when I was a kid, they were a very dark blue
I had forgotten that
I've never seen a red one that was still alive

All lobsters that are going to be cooked get the blues... :cool:
