Hey, I'm a new owner and I was wondering if it's possible to feed a garter snake baby food? Some lizards are able to and I was curious if anyone's tried. On that topic, does anyone know of any other different types of food that have worked for their snake? Thanks in advance!

We're very lucky actually, in the 3 hours we've had the snake, found wild, it's already eating nightcrawlers!

I would not use baby food, if you read the care sheet it will tell you.

Congrats on getting your wildcaught garter to eat a few hours after being in your care, sometimes it takes days.

Definitely do not feed your garter any baby food or other alternatives to what is listed in the caresheet.

Contrary to what you may have heard, baby food is not even suitable for lizards. Too many sugars and other bad things!

It's so great that it ate for you so soon. I've only had 2 do that. Most took a few days and a couple took more than a week. Congrats on have the most wonderful snake ever, and welcome to the forum family!
