My new Garters have all arrived today. 3 T.sirtalis sirtalis (florida blues, 2 male one female), and an albino T.marcianus.

The marcianus is a really friendly little thing, and very placid for its size. I believe it is female by looking at it, but I'll post pics up in the next few days after its settled. It could also be a sibling to my other marcianus, and I'm also going to post some more tail pics of that guy, as I'm not so sure now.

The sirtalis were a little more skitty, but are now calming down in their respective homes. I'm really looking forward to watching these guys colour up as they grow :)

Congrats on the new arrivals! You know, it's interesting...everyone I know on here who have marcianus and albino marcianus talk about how friendly they are. Hermes is certainly a sweet little fellow...he can be social as long as he has the glass between us. He likes to come over to the glass and I will talk to him and he will respond by following my face or hand...but as soon as I try to hold him...he flips out! Lol... He also spends most of his time hiding.

Happy endings all round lol. This little marcianus really has no fear at all. Maybe it relates to how inbred and stupid they are. Only time will tell, but if I catch him licking the glass I'll be sure to let you know ;)

So here they are. First is the tiny Albino T.marcianus:

Next are the Florida blues (T.sirtalis sirtalis) although they aren't so blue yet. It will be interesting to see how they colour up over the coming months.

And the two males having some lunch:

The T.sirtalis sirtalis seem to be a little more flighty, but they are calming down very quickly and don't flee every time they see me now. They all seem to be spending much time looking at me, and seemed very happy at the prospect of fish.

Yes, he is. The yellow and pink together kinda remind me of pink lemonade:D And lemonade is my favorite!

Sweet looking group! I've never cared for florida blues, but yours have peeked my interest. It will be really interesting to see how they color up in the future.

It will be fun to watch. I noticed some slight blue on the side of the female, and it gave me the idea of making a month by month photo diary to see how quickly they colour. I'm hoping for strikingly blue snakes to make a good contrast, but I wouldn't mind if they coloured up like normal easterns either. They have all earned a place beside me and they are already showing great character.

I feel very blessed to be with them.

Such adorable photos! And I will keep forum members in mind if my neighbors bring me any more baby easterns. I think my albino marcianus is actually quite intelligent. He likes to interact with me...he will poke his head out of his hide and if I talk to him he will come out and follow my face around. Of course, the other day, he ate a plant. Just kidding...
