A person with more know how about garters than me, Has told me Martha is a red-sided garter.
The last time she ate he pointed out the tiniest hint of red in her flanks as she swollows her food,
She is due a feed tonite so I will take some pics to show you.
Up until now I thought she was an Eastern.......or are they the same thing?

Red-sided are T.s.parietalis and easterns are T.s.sirtalis. Different subspecies. Be aware, though, that easterns can have red in between the scales. Show us another pic please....

The red could also be a touch of erythrism. Codominant traits have a wide range of expression.
