Welcome to the forum.
Great choice for snake, I'm guessing you're planning to get some Cuitzeos when Steve Bol comes to Doncaster in September? My pair came from Steve. They're great snakes, a little shy and jumpy, but my female is one of my favourite snakes.

Glad your excited about the cuitzeo . I'll get some updated photos of him for you as his growth rate is fast! By the time you collect at Donny he will be a good size. Had mine a while and as far as garters go there a big snake, well the females are.

There an awesome species to work with. They take a whitle to settle down and will hide away for the first few months. I can hand feed mine now. Your baby seems good natured as far as cuitzeos go. I get him out once a week to check him over and weigh him and after a complimentary musk settles down. Don't rush into breeding these give females about 2.5 years. There bigger than the average garter and have large young. My female is over 3 feet and stocky. I made the mistake of selling a sub adult pair to someone and the idiot breeds them a few months later. I'm still livid now as I blame myself for selling them to him!:(. Snake should come first always, I waited until my female was just under 3. Male was 2. Some garters will breed after 18 months but not larger species.

If you love your mexicans Have a look at Thamnophis melanogaster, they will keep you on your toes! Mine are nuts!

I think we are having a garter get together in Doncaster so will keep you posted. :-)

Dear god John, knock it off. nothing wrong in making sure it does not happen again and showing a bit of passion for my snakes wellbeing! Once bitten twice shy and all that! Anyway this is not the thread to discuss it. If you have a problem with it start another thread or pm me.

You are acting like a stupid 5 year old. Wow, John. One person made ONE mistake. Drop it, the snakes aren't dead.

Why do you have to persist in being a right arsehole about this John? You say that this isn't the right thread and yet it's you that raised the subject in it. And on "once bitten twice shy", maybe this time you've actually offered some good advice to the person buying the snakes from you rather than just discussing price and arranging collection, in which case you may have a right to complain if they agree to do what you ask. Show passion for YOUR snakes' wellbeing, unfortunately you don't talk much on here about your snakes and how you keep them so we don't hear much about the passion for your snakes.

And from my experience, having been bitten once, I'd offer some advice to Reptilia. Keep every email, PM, and text message that you exchange with the seller, then you can be certain what you did and didn't agree to do with the snakes you buy when he starts slagging you off online a few months or years after you pick up the snakes.

look guys, I know there's probably some tension, for whatever reason that has nothing to do with me. However, I love animals more than anything in the world. So if I plan to breed them, I will read every damn article I find. And if I need advice, ill ask. Im not shy, and im sure as hell not stupid.

But please, don't use giving me advice as an excuse to argue
You both have a common passion, a love for snakes. I don't understand how that causes friction. But, again it has nothing to do with me!

Not my intention. I apologise for taking the bait when your thread was used as another veiled criticism of me, it certainly isn't your fault and I expect Stefan or Infernalis will moderate the inappropriate posts to bring the thread back to its purpose.

Well, I was the one who started it, techinally... After John, of course. So, sorry. I just don't apreciate him bringing up the stupid drama over a little mistake. Everyone has their own opinions, and he doesn't seem to understand that.
