Hey guys. Been really busy lately so haven't had much chance to post recently.

Domino escaped! He's been gone about a month now. I've tried all the usual tricks and I've pretty much ripped my house apart looking for him.

What's the longest anyone has had a garter escape for and been found again?

We have had a few members that have lost them for several weeks and then found them in the oddest places in their house...even after they had looked everywhere. I think that garters are not only great escape artists, but very stealthy and great at hiding! Was there any possible way he could have gotten outside? If so...I would check around outside in places he could hide...bushes, under logs, etc. If there are any places that he could get inside walls or vents in the house...check there too. Keep us posted. I hope you find him soon. Remember...garters can go months without food. :)

Sneakie Snake got out and was gone for almost 2 months once. She got out often and was always found quickly. That time I was freaking out though. I was so relieved when I found her.
I hope you find your little Domino soon!!!

Thanks guys for all the kind words. Its been a while now and I'm declaring him MIA. I'll still be keeping an eye out for him and leaving water/the occasional piece of salmon out for him.

I've been taking a torch out with me everyday so I can check the neighbourhood on my way back from work but its catcity central around here so I don't fancy his chances. I also have a cat at home so he isn't too safe inside either, but my can't isn't much of a hunter (she won't even bother with loose crickets) but he does resemble a living bootlace.

All I can do is hope he turns up in the not so distant future.

Don't count him out just yet. Before I moved we had six outdoor cats, most of them hunters, and I'd still find snakes hanging around my yard all the time.

Thats very reassuring so thank you. Like I said I will always keep an eye out for him. I figure I have at least two years before I move, so thats a reasonable time limit for the little guy

I had one go missing for about two months. Found her basking beside her enclosure on a bag of aspen!
