Does anyone know how an abnormal or erratic photoperiod would affect a snake?

Not a clue. I suspect that if you succeed in creating it (in a way that doesn't let them figure out the time of day by the amount of natural light or other activity in the room), you might have a non-feeder on your hands after a while.
