Meet Mocha! A GORGEOUS NW (T. ordinoides). She is a mocha brown color with flecks of orange and a vanishing dorsal stripe. She was found in Clallam county WA along the Elwha River.

She is in a paper bag right now, we literally just found her. She is so pretty I just couldn't wait to share.

So would I.I think that theoretically i could take them back on a plane as hand luggage but its not very practical or economical though.Would a couple ordinoides be worth a few thousand mile trip on a plane?

So she is settled into her new home. I'll offer her some food tomorrow as today was stressful for her. Here she is. Bill isn't too keen on the Mocha, but until he can come up with something we can agree on it stays. :D

She does look like a heath bar! She could be gravid, she is WC and she did feel a little thick, but I don't know if she had just eaten or not. Time will tell I guess. Good eyes there Emily, she is just barely going into blue. With as beautiful as she is she can mark whatever she wants! I kinda hope she is gravid, her babies should be amazing (I hope).

I was wondering if she could be gravid, but was thinking maybe she looks too small? Or is she probably full grown? That would be exciting to see what her babies would look like:)

Mocha had 2 large night crawlers tonight! I just put the cup of worms in the enclosure and let her get to them when she felt like it. She is a polite eater, she ate over the cup the whole time.

I just love her coloring. She has little flecks of orange and black and yellow in her. I just can't get over how gorgeous she is!

With how small northwesterns are, you can just cup them in your hands, and they'll shift themselves around a little bit and then you can lift your hand and have a cute little coiled up snake.
