I went to feed one of my Checkered Garter Snakes and this is what I found. 5 babies. Please over look the discoloration of the plastic container, it is clean, the container is stained.

Awesome surprise! Beautiful babies! Yes, you may want to be careful with that type of container for the babies...I have heard some horror stories of young garters getting their heads caught in the slats. Might want to look into getting a small tank or plastic tub for them.

Might want to look into getting a small tank or plastic tub for them.My FOUR month old marcianus escaped from a kritterkeeper with a lid like that.It took ages to find him and he injured his ventral scales in the process. If you want to keep them in that cage stretch some tights over the top of the tank so the snakes cant get to the slits.

Don't worry everyone, that is the lid of the contained that the plastic container is sitting on. The container itself if very high and the snakes can.t get anywhere near the top. Thanks for caring.

Wet snakes can climb any plastic or glass. I wouldn't recommend a critter keeper for babies/young snakes.
Just a word to the wise.

Thanks, but their heads are to big to fit threw the lid even if they did get that high, I checked.

Good! I'm glad you checked. One of the things i first saw when i got mine was the the critter keeper had slats big enough they very well could have slipped through. I just put nylon over the whole lid *lol* works for spiders, so why not?
Mine are nice and big and fat now, though, so no worries for me anymore *lol* need to move them soon.

Hey how are the little ones doing?

All have survived and are eating fresh Salmon. Will soon have to move them into their own individual enclosures.
