Im planning on going to the world famous "Snake Road" in October.Its a road that they shut down for migrating snakes, its a whole lotta fun! Im gonna meet a fellow herper from Ohio out there. This area is in southern Illinois and its great for herping, its where the north meets the south so the variety in herpfauna is excellent!! I cant wait, im long over due for a hard core herp trip!! Anybody been herping in southern Illinois and been to Snake Road before?

cottonmouths, copperheads, black rats, speckled/black kings, prairie kings, plainbelly waters, diamondback waters, western ribbons, eastern garters, red milks(some of the nicest), timbers, cave sallies, long tail sallies, slimy sallies, ground and five lined and bigheaded skinks...mud snakes etc....eastern box turles...etc.

Haha he always calls me miss shannon.... I don't think that will EVER CHANGE! There is actually a really good chance I'll be in IL in october. I just filled out the form to vend Cold-Blooded Creation at the Tinley park expo!

Oh good grief. As if 1500+ miles to get a few garter snakes wasn't enough already. I couldn't take it though. I lasted 7 months and went into full garter withdrawal, lol.

Yes, I do realize it would have been cheaper to just buy them, but it's not the same. Not nearly as much fun as catching them yourself.:cool:

im not going to snake road for garters you numb skull...im going to Wasington to find garters ..and then Texas... and then California:)

Yeah, no kidding sherlock. My point is, I would have to travel yet another 2200 miles one way, to visit snake road. Another 4400 miles round trip, so I can go herping. If I do that, somebody call the guys in the white jackets, because I need help.:p
