POOP. Is there a certain look that a snakes fecal matter would look like that would be a red flag that something was wrong with its health? The reason I bring it up is today was snack day (nightcrawlers). On Friday everyone ate pinkys. So after mamma snake ate her dish of cut up worms she left me a deposit of poo right on the dish. It just looked kinda white/yellowish snot. Sorry, trying to be as descriptive as possible, not gross for grossness. Sorry no pic, didn't think. Cause for concern? Or normal?

Lol...I was just thinking...we have a thread for that! Ha ha. We don't think poop is gross on here...we discuss it all the time! It sounds to me though like you may have been looking at urates and not poop. although urates are usually powdery...but I have seen snotty looking poo before.

My kingsnake leaves me items of that description all of the time; think of a raw egg with a black yolk. The yellow stuff seems to dry into a fine powder. This is all from a rodent-only diet.

Yeah I get mucusy looking poos sometimes to. Well I mean my snakes do... I dont think its any cause for concern as long as it does not persist and the snake is in good overall health.

Thanks to all, Steve for the poo link, all is normal. I say urine is what I saw that maybe had not dried yet to the white powdery look. The look on my wife's face by the way when I asked her to check the poo thread I just started that then went into her following Steve's thread about the subject with pics while eating a bowl of cereal...... priceless!

White, tapey, wormy things in the **** isn't normal. Apart from that, couldn't say.

I would be concerned if their were any worms or unusual matter

Exactly. Your snake just "peed".

The most common signs of trouble are blood and undigested worms or worm segments. A tapeworm infestation often causes poor body mass, traces of blood in the feces, and occasionally segments of tapeworms found in their feces, poor immunity against infections, and generally diminished vigor and health. The good news is, the cure works and they usually make a full recovery. Praziquantel is safe and effective given in the right dose. That's what I use for tape worms. Other parasites require a different medication. This drug is specifically for tapeworms. It causes them to loose their grip on the intestines, and exit the body.
