Worms have calcium?

I've read on the internet that worms are high in calcium but is this true?

I think a lot depends on the soil they come from.
What they eat the garters eat.

So if i crushed up some egg shells and spread it around my garden would that increase the worm's calcium levels?

As long as it's small enough for the worms to eat it should work in theory.
Or you could buy some of this and dip the back end of the worm in it or sprinkle it on cutup worms.
Not sure if this is sold in the U.K. but I'm sure there are products available that will do the job.

Get the ph of your soil tested by your county extension office. If you are acid, add whatever calcium bearing suppliment is recommended in your area. If its neutral or alkaline you may be fine on calcium. Your county extension office cañ advise. Zucchini blossom end rot alerted me that I needed to supplement calcium. Bone meal is often recommended, but mineral. Or shell suppliments are cheaper or favored in some areas.

I would just use the powder that way you know they are getting calcium.

I often forget to use my calcium supplement...but I always feed my snakes a varied diet of pinkies, fish, and worms. I try to remember to put repcal on the food every 3-4 feedings...but I'll admit...I forget sometimes. But Cee Cee and Seeley managed to live a healthy life for a year before I even started using supplements. I think it is definitely a good added measure...but many people forgo supplements and their snakes do fine without them.
