I have named my little lone birth radix.
In honor John McCann(R.I.P.) the name is Scouser.

I love how you make your babies eat from the dish. Mine never do that, it MUST move one way or another. :P Not that they can't do that, Kleo sometimes took smelts out of nowhere when I forgot to take them away and Izy did it for the first time last week. I was trying to convince Ary to eat a piece of smelt and put it's head into Izy's cage (without any hope). I've turned away for a while and when I turned back, bam! No fish, just Izy acting like: "what, I found it!". ;)

That looks to be minced earthworm or night crawler. I will let Steve answer the frequency part.

Probably chopped worms (Steve's favorite hobby is chopping up worms ;))

It is cut-up night crawler. They get a dish every 3rd day. They want a dish everyday.:D They don't like eating pebbles:D

Please tell us you made sure the other snakes aren't Manchester united fans.

Please tell us you made sure the other snakes aren't Manchester united fans.
It's quite likely that Steve's snakes are Man U fans:
D * (L / N+1) = C
(1-T)^2
C = likelihood of supporting Manchester United
D = distance (in km) of home address from Old Trafford
N = Number of Manchester United matches attended
T = Number of times they mention "Manchester United" when they find find out your from England
L = "The Manc constant" = 43.716
As you can see, Old Trafford to Iowa is a huge distance, so they immediately have a high likelihood of being Man U supporters.

Little Scouser was first out to see me this morning and begging for some food.
This little radix is something special and I look forward to watch it mature.
I have never had a baby act like little Scouser does.:)

Little Scouser is getting sometime in a shed box. Retained shed.
Hoping he'll take care of it in the box but will assist if I need to.

Take a look at this first photo. Scouser was fresh out of the shed box. Looks pretty good. Nope, fully retained shed.
The second photo is after I removed the shed manually.
I made one mistake when I put Scouser in the shed box. I didn't use a clean shed box. I had used it earlier in the day for a snake with a partially retained shed.
I also thought Scouser had a partially retained shed. With these two mistakes in mind I checked on Scouser a few hours later. The first thing I checked was the shed box for a shed.
I could only find bits and pieces of a shed so I assumed the job was complete.
I took that first photo and placed Scouser back in the enclosure. I immediately notice some strange behavior. At first I thought it was the beginning of some regurgitation.
Then I realized it was a breathing issue. I think Scouser was trying to break the retained shed with deep breaths.
I dipped Scouse(not a typo) in the water dish and tried to get an edge of the shed off at the vent. Sure enough the shed started. I quickly shed the tail and also started the shed at the tip of the lower jaw and head.
A few more moments and I had a completely shed Scouser.
I'm glad I didn't assume the shed was off at first.
It's important to remember that coming out of a shed box the old shed is more loose due to the increased moisture. Once back in its enclosure that moister dissipates and constricts the snake.

Noticed last night that Scouser was having a difficult time with another shed. This morning I removed him from the shed box and helped him out of the old skin.
He went back in with his mates and was given a worm for being so cooperative.
I like this Scouser.
