Just wondering if there are any risks involved with feeding worms dug out from the wild?

If you know that the soil is pesticide free that is the most significant risk. So it depends where they come from.

there aren't any risk of parasites then? The worms Garry gets are from my garden and my Dad says he hasn't used chemicals.

Well, I'll put it this way: store-bought worms come from the ground too. I don't know if there are any worm to snake parasites out there, but neither is safer than the other.

Not necessarily, Steveo. Store-bought worms are usually farmed, if I understand rightly.

There is always a risk of parasites when you feed wild caught anything.
I think the risk is lower for night crawlers though.
Just my opinion.

I don't know of any parasites that come from worms. I have used them for years with no problems. really helps with some of my non feeders

I have used store bought and ones that I have caught in the garden, no problem.
If your dad has a compost heap don't use any that you catch near there..get them from other end of the garden

Whats wrong with getting them from near a compost heap? I do check that they aren't red wigglers.
