We have a 70 gallon aquarium housing our newest family members, we have a pair of w/c garters found by my oldest boy! He is anxious to catch more, more more!!!! Reminds me of me at that age. (well even at my age now, lol)
Anywho the twins are about 18", and growing. How many more would be comfortable in the tank. Its 4' x 18" X 18" with several hides and decent size water dish for soaking. I know I could put several more in at this size, but I dont want to overcrowd the tank in 2 years.

Two or three snakes are enough.

Have to agree.....I wouldn't put more then 3 garters in there. They're much more active snakes then some of the other colubrids, so it's a good idea to give them plenty of room to move around.

Yeah, three is normally about my limit in one enclosure.

How do you group them? By (sub/)species, gender, morph or all three?

I usually keep 1.2 groups, and I never mix species or sub-species together, just in case they decide to mate while my back is turned!
