It's been two/three years at least since I last posted, but I thought this was worth sharing. I recently realized that my grocery store cuts fresh fish every day and therefore probably had scraps they could give me. I asked and they gave me a handful of freshly cut (3-4 hours before, kept cold still) salmon. I assume you could do this with any type of raw meat (that your snake eats) they sell at most grocery stores. Does anyone see any potential downsides?

Nice to have you back on the forum.
Just that the fish was fresh and the location they came from is safe water.

I guess I could try to find out where the fish is from. Although I do remember asking before and I trusted it enough that I've eaten a fair amount of sashimi made from their salmon

Keep in mind we are much more tolerant(due to our size) of chemicals and heavy metals then these small snakes.

Honestly I'm not really sure why it was considered scrap other than the fact that there was a fin on it. Some parts had bones but there was a lot of solid meat in there. I'd post a picture but I just got back from school and I'm not sure where the cord to connect my phone to my computer is.

No worries. I just can't imagine them giving away good meat. It does make sense if it contains bone and fins though.

Hmm I might be able to work a deal w my local fish. Mkt, but most grocery stores couldn't / wouln't because of liability.
