I got my T.macianus (Garry) on Tuesday(it's going to be very awkward if it turns out to be female!).He's about the size of a 2p coin when coiled up and was born January 2012.He's a little scared of me but doesn't mind eating worms from my hands.I haven't been able to feed him pinkies even though thats all the breeders fed him...any tips on getting him to feed on pinkies would be much appreciated.:D

I just got my T.sirtalis to eat pinkies by just mixing it in with cut up worms. Try getting the pinkies covered in as much worm goo as you can. This worked perfect for me.

Start him off with pinky parts. Clip the pinky legs off at the thighs and shoulders.
Just an idea.

it is quite small,it latched onto a pinky head couple hours after he arrived but it was to big for him (should i cut the pinkys into really small bits?).Later that day he ate some worms even though he had never seen them before,he responded to the worms wiggling and then sucked them down.I'm thinking about putting some chopped up pinkies in a bowl and using the worms as a lure to tempt him over to hopefully eat the pinkies,How does that sound?

That should work.

If your going to cut up the pinky make sure you do it while it's still frozen, it's a lot less messier.

Pinky fillet stirred in a mild raw nightcrawler sauce, served at room temperature with some mineral water on the side.
Resistance is futile!

Yep, just chop the pinkies really small. When my marcianus babies were small none of them would do the head without me cutting it in half. It won't be long before they are taking larger pieces. Keep the largest pieces about the size of its head.
The size of a 2p sounds pretty small for 4 months, or maybe I'm forgetting how small our girls were when we first had them.

Is it just me that thinks that his body is on the small side? Comparing his head to his body?
What do you know about how the breeder fed the litter? If they group fed the babies at a bowl it's possible that this little guy got pushed aside by the bigger kids. If he's eaten worms for you that's great, keep feeding him every few days and try to get him eating the chopped pinkies. I'm sure that he'll start putting on a bit more weight now that he's getting more individual attention away from the rest of the litter.

I agree with Chris, his body is on the small side.

Does he look emaciated or just a little skinny?

I would call it borderline but not emaciated yet.
Just my opinion.

I shouldn't have any problems because he ate a heap of worm about an hour ago:D I hope he keeps it up...

Putting some weight on shouldn't take too long.;)

He's definitely skinny. My first impression was that he isn't too far in size from my checkered girl who failed to thrive. She didn't eat at all for 4 months. Get some food in your little guy and he'll start to bulk up, especially if you can get him eating pinkies with their higher fat content.

I'd go with every other day until he starts to bulk up, then drop to twice a week.

I feed my babies every other day...sometimes every day if I am giving them small meals. I just make sure they always look like they have a little bulge in their tummies. One trick I have used when my shy snakes won't eat is to chop the food up into really tiny bits and to put it on a little dish and then put it under a hide and put the snake under the hide with the food.
