First off, Hello! I stumbled onto this site researching our two newest additions to the family. My son and I caught 2 garter snakes in the feild behind the house. Anywho, I just got word that a friend is looking to find a home for his ball python. Is there any chance for one big happy family in my 70 gal. tank or is it off to the store for another aquarium???
Figures my first post has to be a question!
Thanks,
Todd

I do not know if I understand your question. You want to put a ballpython in the same vivarium as the two garter snakes?
If that is the question, I have to say: do not do this!
They live in completely different habitats, continents and climates.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Thamnophis, I would not keep them in the same aquarium.

Yeh, I'll put a third on that one. This would NOT work. Basically what it comes down to is that the living conditions for the two different snakes are VERY different...to the point where what's ideal for one would be harmful to the other. Also it's never a good idea to put snakes of differing sizes together....can lead to some very unpleasant outcomes.

And a fourth! Bad idea all round for the reasons stated above.
Hi, Todd, and welcome to the forum!

Welcome aboard, Todd. :)
They're giving you good advice, don't house those two species together.

hi Tod
nice to meet you
ditto the above advice
but you know with a 70G you could easily get some more garters of similar size

You could house many garters in that tank, then buy a smaller one for a BP, since I am pretty sure they don't need that much room.
Also I fifth that statement. Do not try that.
