Getting plumpy

Over the last couple of weeks we have noticed that our beautiful Blade had put on some weight in certain areas. What do you guys think?4751475247534754

Me too! I'm so excited to see if little scrubs come out. Hopefully she doesn't just have slugs. If babies come out I'll be holding on to them for a while to see if any color up to be red. Chantel you get top pick of any you want for letting us borrow Snakie.

Blade just shed this morning. She has been hiding a lot. We will be setting up the nursery tonight. I think Adira will have to hang out with the big group for a while. Blade will be having Adira's digs until the big day. I'll take some pics after we get her moved in.

Nothing really to speak of. She is still fat and happy :D. I've been super busy, so I haven't had an opportunity to get pics up. I'll do it soon though. She just shed about a week ago, so I think we are getting closer. I hope we get babies and not slugs.

Yes she is a very red red stripe ordinoides. She was paired with Chantel's red stripe Snakey.

Do you know approx. how much longer she has?

Not a clue. Ordinoides can hold sperm for quite some time until conditions are optimal. She was paired with Snakey in October and started showing signs of weight gain mid April. My girl that gave birth last summer we have from early June and popped the 1st of August. So maybe soon?

My pretty girl looks to be shifting her load. Her vent has started to open ever so slightly. She was very restless today and her breathing is heavy every once in a while.

She really a gorgeous girl. I love how calm she and trusting she is. You can see just how big she is getting. I hope that because she is getting so big this is good sign of babies and not jellies.

So Blade did a strange thing tonight. She did a few frantic laps backwards in her tank and then went in her hide. I tried to see if she was ok, but she twitched her neck at me when I touched her so I left her be. You know that thing they do when other snakes slither on them and they say"hey I'm a snake, what are you?"

A little sample of her backwards laps. Happens about every 2 to 3 minutes. Has anyone seen this type of behavior before? I'm not sure what Willow did last year, I only saw Willow after she started delivering.

No news yet. She had calmed down so I took her out to have look. She looks about the same as when Willow did 7-10 days prior to birth. This is just another guess though. We'll see, it's completely up to her. Nighty night all.

You cant tell when a northwestern has decided to ovulate, so we don't know if she ovulated later, there is no exact date we could say... So technically, she's not dragging it out.
