Hello peeps,
Got a couple of questions for you all
First up- Are dillies safe for garters (dillies are for feeding lionfish)
Second up- Is it alright if I fill the bath up a few inces and let Martha have a bit of a swim about and if so, what sort temp should I have the water

Thanks in advance
Mark

Many garters love swimming, Mark...the things you want to be careful with are the snake jumping out of the tub and getting loose, and making sure that any secondary drain holes are covered. We had a member almost lose a snake in a secondary drain hole in a sink! So...go ahead and let her have a swim! You can also just use a plastic tub. :)

Luke warm. Our snakes love to swim. I put a plastic lid in with them so they can rest if they want to. It's cute to watch then float around on the lid.

Be prepared for the fact that some snakes do not like to swim. Out the four I have now, only Hermes likes to swim. My easterns hate it and Possum has no idea what is going on if I try to get him to swim! :)

That's interesting. Mine usually freak out and flip all over and make a break for it....except for Hermes, who will swim a little, then sit there and take a break, then swim..break, etc.

Garters said they used them before moving them on to pinks

If it's unknown whether they contain thiaminase I don't think it's safe to have they as the only food item.
Just my opinion.
