I'm wondering if there's a website to buy these online or if you just have to get them from a pet shop/grocery store? I know you have to be careful with fish since some sold for humans will have something bad in them for snakes so I suppose it would be safer to buy frozen fish at the pet shop. Mine seems to price frozen fish pretty high though and they don't have earthworms/nightcrawlers at all so I was wondering where you guys get yours?

I buy my fish...fresh fish fillet at the seafood counter at my supermarket. I make sure it is fresh, not previously frozen, does not have added coloring, and I try to get farmed fish. Tilapia is best...low mercury, farmed steel-head trout is also good. I have recently heard that if you are going to buy salmon, Alaskan is best. I buy my nightcrawlers from a local marine store...although this winter I went online to Cabelas and bought a special worm farm container (but you can use a styrofoam cooler) and worm bedding and started my own worm farm. I went to the marine store and got some nightcrawlers, and then got the bedding and put them in the container...now I keep them in my basement and have them when I need them. I also have access to nightcrawlers in my backyard in the summer. Pinkies, I order in bulk online from MiceDirect or RodentPro.

Also, I would figure that snakes would be a hobby better suited for Slytherin. But then again, Harry seemed to have a knack for it.

We have the big chain stores and local shops around our lakes.

We just have a local marine store that I know of...they know me by now...all of the fishing guys ask me about my snakes when I come in to buy my nightcrawlers. :)

Of course, on your side of the pond you can wander into Walmart and pick up your fishing bait and a box of .45 shells with your weekly shop. :) I remember being so surprised by the range of stuff you could get in a supermarket.

I never seem to pass a fishing shop when it's open, I'll have to make a special trip for worms.
