This litter was born a couple days ago. The mother is a peach flame double het for albino and melanistic (het snow, originally produced by Joe Peck and acquired thru Scott Felzer) and the sire is a Carteret Co. erythristic albino that I produced two years ago. Ended up with 6 erythristic/peach flame albinos and 8 erythristic/peach flames. They have varied amounts of orange, but they all have some orange/peach color. One of the albinos is orange top to bottom, not just on the lower sides, cant wait to see it as an adult. They will all be 50% possible het for melanistic and the 8 non-albino peach/flames are then 100% het albinos. I will probably be selling some of these babies once I get them going. Most of them ate their first meal today of cut nightcrawler pieces. It's always nice to see them eat their first meal a couple days after they are born.

Thanks guys, pretty excited about this group, they have a unique look and lots of variety in the litter. I forgot to mention that the sire was also 66% possible het for melanistic but as you can see unfortunately he didn't prove out to be het for melanistic as there were no snows or melanistics. As you know Joe, I was really hoping to see a solid colored orange/peach erythristic snow with no pattern. Guess I will have to try again next year.

Of course, I've planned out every combo possible, since the pied came out. I think the melanistic pied and erythristic/flame pied with be the best looking, but the snake you're talking about would be the ultimate breeder to hit on all the different chances. Unfortunately I only have 5 male het pieds left, all my females died, so for me the pied project is going to take a long time. I might still try to make some possible het pieds next year, but that is the best I can do in the short term. I'm sure someone else will make pieds long before I do.

Hope you get some good litters Don. I have a few females left to go and a few females that are looking like they are taking the year off, which is fine.

Thanks, It's always a big relief when they eat within the first week, because then you know they are going to be gravy to get growing fast. Generally that translates to good feeders into adulthood, but I have had poor feeders out the gate come on strond as adults and vise versa.
