I found this young male caught in the siding on the back deck.
He was very well behaved afterwords and let me get a few photos before heading under the deck.

I want to find snakies in my house too :) (not just the ones I know about)

Right? I am completely convinced now that these holes in my yard are snake holes....possibly dens...but there are no snakes to be found. The holes have been there for a couple of years and I am trying to figure out where all the snakes around here have gone. We used to have so many. I used to find them in the yard, under my house, in my basement... I have only taken two inside...Cee Cee and Seeley. I am starting to wonder if last winter, being so harsh...maybe they didn't make it through. There were 2 babies in November of 2010, and two adult females last spring. One baby disappeared, and one adult died and I have Cee Cee and Seeley (the other baby and adult). Then I saw one baby this winter, Sammy, the one I tried to save, but he didn't make it. I haven't seen any other snakes around here between last spring and now. I have no idea what is going on.
