View Full Version : Back from holiday (Turkey)
Last week, we (my girlfriend and I) were in the south of Turkey (Side - close to Antalya) to relax from our daily business. We had a good time, the weather was fine, the countryside was just as I like it and there were a lot of nice people from everywhere out of Europe (there were probably even nice people from other places, but I didn't met them).
I wanna give you a short view about the things we saw there.
The sea was very clean, perfect to swim.

The pampa. There were everywhere very old relics. I found it very nice to see those things.

We were very surprised to see those Testudos in the pampa. This one was full of ticks and already smelt strange.

Yummy - what a juicy berry ;-)

Also very yummy....for lizards:

We stayed in little "bungalows". I like that much more than those large bunkers (you know what I mean ;-)). I also had something to do while smoking a cigarette in the morning. Maybe you found it also, have a look at the wall:

The last ones. We saw a lot of those Agamas. They are probably everywhere. As it looks like, they can vary their color from bright to dark.

Indeed we do. :)
Was supposed to go to Antalya once, but then the Gulf War happened and my parents felt Turkey was a bit too likely to become involved.
@Rhea
Thanks. It's really a nice spot down there.
@Stefan-A
Thanks to you too.
I heard from people which were down there at this time, that there were some jets flying around. Nothing else. But I can understand the mind of your parents and probably had decided like them.

I don't think anybody knew how things would play out down there.
That's right, a good reason to don't go. Still nowadays it isn't that secure down there. I heard of 2 bombs in the last month.

Very nice pictures. Turkey is a beautiful country, I was there for a couple of weeks some years ago. I had a wonderful time.
Thanks James. So you made the same experiences like we did. Where were you at?

I stayed in a place called Altinkum, but I travelled around quite a bit too. Very friendly people.

Nice pictures, Cyrill:)
Turkey didn't attrack me at all, but when I see your pics I might be changing my mind.
Thanks :-) In my opinion, it's really worth it's visit. I woudln't go back there in the next few years, but just because I want to see other things. If you are interested in other pictures, just leave me a message with what you want to see, maybe I've got something.

Nice pictures. It's always good to load up the batteries again on a nice trip. Technically I've been to Turkey before, but I do not remember much of when I was 3-4y:rolleyes:. Looks nice to do one day.
Welcome back :)

Very cool pics Cyrill, my wife would just LOVE to go to Turkey. She does middle eastern dance and would just go nuts if she could actually go to some place it originated. Me....yeh, I'd go for the lizards....LOL!:D

@Snaky
That's just what we did and it was just what we needed. I think it's ok if you don't remeber anything - after this time ;-)
@Roy
I think then is Turkey not a bad place for both of you. In the hotel was such a show - but we didn't had a look at.
